What about shipping costs?

Shipping such a large and heavy package costs a lot of money. Let us know where you live and we will give you a quote of the cost of shipping from our logistics partner. It is important that you budget in a few thousand rands extra for the shipping costs that will be added to the invoice. Obviously the further you are away from Cape Town the higher the cost will be. Just be prepared for a high shipping cost.

How long does it take to get my ramp after I order?

All you need to do is contact us to let us know which DIY assembly kit you would like to buy and if you will be adding extras to it. We will then calculate shipping costs, add this to the price of the kit and send you an invoice. As soon as you have paid the invoice we will prepare the materials then ship the DIY Kit to you. It will take about 7 to 10 working days to arrive at your doorstep from the time we receive payment. You will receive tracking information so you can follow your ramp every step of the way.

Do you need to be a ‘handy person’ to assemble a DIY kit?

No you do not. If you follow the instructions and use a bit of common sense then it should all go well. It is a very fun and involving project and by the end of it you can step back and be proud of what you have built. It will take 1 to 2 days of solid work but can be such a rewarding project for a family or some mates with a few beers.

Why are some of the struts a bit skew and not perfectly straight?

This is the nature of wood. It’s an animal that bends and moves and it is natural that by the time it gets to you that some of the pieces are ‘bananas’. But this is normal and will not be a problem! With all the screws and 3 layers of plywood that go on top you will never think about it again.

Why is some of the wood so wet?

The wood we source for the substructure is structural pine. It is treated for weather on the coast so that wetness is the left over ‘anti-rot’ treatment called CCA H3 treatment. It will dry over time.
